More info... Big increases in e-book prices seem like a bad deal for consumers. They may be necessary, however, to keep authors and publishers in business as e-books replace paper ones.

Los Angeles (dpa) - Three of the largest U.S. book publishers are to hike the prices of their electronic books after the introduction of Apple's iPad tablet computer forced Amazon to abandon its one-price- fits-all policy, Information Week reported Monday.
