Never Forget

Mommy says to her child one day

You were supposed to brush your teeth

The child looked up with a sheepish grin

And said Mom, I just forgot

His teeth began to rot.

The boss said to his employee one day

Your error will cost us plenty

I was just so busy, sir, I guess I just forgot

Business soon closed down, and is now a vacant lot

Dad scolded his son one day

You were drinking while you drove

The son could give no answer back

I guess he just forgot

The dad cried over his sons grave

in the cemetery plot.

Planes slammed the World Trade Center in New York one day

So many Americans lost their lives

How could we let this happen, a very evil plot

I guess we just forgot

20 years to the day we think of 9/11

None have come together to raise the American flag in honor

We are completely divided, oneness is not sought

I guess we just forgot.

We must remember history as painful as it must be

We must all come together, from sea to shining sea

For if we continue down an un-American path

We can forget it all, no present, no future, no past

Never Forget. Let’s all be Americans again
