America the beautiful where have you gone
Where is your democracy for which we now long
Where is your work of debate and compromise
Where is the union of agreement it implies
Why has America split into many factions
We’ve been deeply divided like the smallest fractions
We no longer seem to get along with our neighbor
Instead we mock each other with a sharpened saber
Does the media have a role into this deep divide
Seems all they do is spread garbage far and wide
They no longer are committed to the truth about this nation
I guess reporting truth is no longer an occupation
And what of our government that is completely out of control
If you don’t agree with me they say, then off you must go
A cancel culture growing like a cancer metastasized
To all whom declare it right I say is ill advised
We no longer can trust those of whom we used to depend
Government, the media, neither one can I defend
We are left only to one source to whom we can trust
Having trust in Jesus now my friend is a must
Our country is fading, but don’t let that weaken faith
Jesus is the only one who can save us from our fate
I want America to again be that shining light on the hill
If enough have faith in Jesus Christ, I believe again it will
