God could have made the earth barren and without beauty
God could have made the oceans without waves or fluidity
But He did not, But He did not
God could have made man without stature or strength
God could have made birds without color or length
But He did not, But He did not
God could have made the stars without a luminous brightness
God could have made mountains without majesty and might ness
But He did not, But He did not
God could have made our minds never imagine or wonder
God could have let man put asunder
But He did not, But He did not
For God chose exactly what he wanted mankind to see
From the beauty of a child, to the aged branches of a tree
To the exact place to put the sun and moon
To the impossible count of night stars or sand in the dune
For God chose exactly what he wanted mankind to hear
From the chirp of a whippoorwill or the crackling fire near
From the crash of the ocean waves upon a jagged rock
To the intricate beats of times ticking clock
For God chose exactly what he wanted mankind to feel
From nature’s cold breath to a dandelions quill
From the guilt of our sin, to a broken hearts cry
From the love of our Savior who for us he did die
For our God is perfect and perfection he gave
He spared no effort to what his hand made
He could have just let man wither and rot
And be without Jesus and choose our own lot
But He did not, But He did not
